CELP acknowledges the Gabrielino/Tongva peoples as the traditional caretakers of Tovaangar (the Los Angeles basin and Southern Channel Islands). We honor and recognize that our camp resides on the traditional lands of the Pimuvit.

CELP History

Since

1999

CELP combines the experience and creative efforts of Catalina Island Camps and Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society. CELP was the first Ambassadors of the Environment (AOTE) program, now a network of global environmental education programs started by Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society. CELP began in 1999 and reaches over 80 schools annually.
