Where is Catalina Island?
Santa Catalina Island is located about 20 miles off the coast of southern California. One of the southern most of the eight channel islands, Catalina lies within Los Angeles county.
Where is the Camp?
The camp at Howlands Landing is located on the pristine west-end of Catalina Island about 5 miles northwest of the Isthmus, the island’s narrowest point. The island’s main town of Avalon is nearly 30 miles away to the southwest. The 19 acres of land at sits on the front side of Catalina Island facing out towards Los Angeles and Huntington Beach.
CELP makes the boat ferry arrangements for visiting groups. Once registered, groups will be sent detailed information about boat times and directions to port.
Below are travel directions to the San Pedro Catalina Express Terminal. On occasion, groups travel to and from the Catalina Express Downtown Long Beach terminal. Contact us if you need directions to the Long Beach Terminal.
