Jobs
at the Catalina Environmental Leadership Program are for people
who have proven leadership experience, a formal science or education
background, proven community building skills and a love for the
rustic and outdoor lifestyle of an environmental education instructor.
Catalina Island is an awesome environment. The ocean is incredibly
full of life and we see amazing things every time we snorkel or
kayak or walk along it. Living with the land through the changes
of theyear opens ones eyes to the incredible lessons that nature
offers.
You have the opportunity to be trained by naturalists of The
Ocean Futures Society, an organization headed by Jean-Michel Cousteau.
The students who come to see us are eager to learn and even after
a few short days, they impact your commitment to life and learning.
The job is a remarkable experience in learning about the environment,
working with children and being part of a special and unique community.
Instructors often comment about how incredible their experience
is working in the program.
Yet, the realities of any job are important to share.

incoming phone calls. CELP does have a voice mail pager number
you can give to family. You may have to wait in line to use the
phone. We have a satellite internet connection. It works most
of the time. Staff share one computer. It works most of the time.
