Howlands Landing lies on the California side of Santa Catalina Island, 22 miles from the Port of Los Angeles. Several hundred feet of beach and a private pier provide access to the kelp beds in the cove. Our secluded spot allows for exploration of the island’s unique plant and animal life.
Temperatures generally stay 5-10 degrees cooler than downtown Los Angeles. Depending on the time of year, the weather may be rainy, hot, cold, windy, dry, dusty or absolutely gorgeous. Water temperature ranges from the mid to upper 50s in winter and early spring to upper 60s in the fall.
